Azizi. That’s Arezi’s faithful companion. You know, that thing all BM hunters would be lost without? A pet maybe? Well regardless of how you feel about it, Azizi is definitely the most important thing in Arezi’s life.
Azizi is the name I gave to the famous black lion, Humarthe Pridelord. Arezi was a 30-something when I finally remembered to tame him. So he had quite a lot of catching up to do! For the longest time, I remember using the rare Barrens leopard, Dishu. In fact, I think she’s still in the stable. When I tamed Dishu, I thought she was the only yellow spotted cat in the game. Wrong. Here I find out there are identical cats all over the place. Great. Awesome. And yet, I became so attached to Dishu that I scared myself. I became attached to a computer game pet…/palmforehead. But for some reason or another it’s so much more than that, am I wrong?
Anyhoo, I got bored with Dishu and thought about going for something even more rare. I stabled my faithful little kitty in Ratchet and found myself searching for Humar. I looked around for awhile, however I’m not the type to camp and area for an extreme amount of time, so I asked around in general chat if anyone had seen him or killed him recently. Didn’t take long to get a response. A kind tauren warrior said he was just about to kill him, but if I wanted to tame him I could. The dear fellow took me right to him! I don’t remember his name, or if I tipped him for the help, but I should have. Nice people like that seem to be few and far between.
A lot of people say that you need to use a freeze trap on him in order to tame. I guess I can see where this would buy valuable taming time for those his level. I decided not to use it on the first time around, and I didn’t have any problems being almost ten levels ahead of him. I couldn’t believe I had just tamed Humar. After everything I’d read…people camping him for days with no luck and such. I guess since it wasn’t very hard to get to and tame him it wasn’t as dramatic as I had once envisioned. Oh well. I had my new baby in my grasp and was as happy as could be.
Umm…until I realized how long it was going to take to level him! I guess looking on the bright side, I got the cat I always envied. And getting him up to my level helped with loyalty too.
I’ve never had a problem naming pets. I can usually come up with something unusual and creative or fantastical. But Humar threw an unforeseen curve ball at me. He is so sleek and majestic. I almost just named him Humar to honor him. Kinda odd, I know. But hang in there because I didn’t name him Humar. Nope I went deep, I mean real deep with this one.
I wanted something that sounded really good with Arezi’s name, and had a meaning. So I started thinking about different approaches to this such as lions IRL and whatnot. Lions in the real world reside mainly in Africa. So I entered something to the effect of “African name translations” into my search browser. And a site popped up immediately. I don’t get lucky like this very often. It was exactly the type of thing I was looking for. It had two links labeled “male names” and “female names.” I clicked the male one in order to save the spirit of Humar its pride. The names were in alphabetical order and one of the first ones I saw was Azizi. I thought about how sweet that would sound with Arezi. I continued down the list with Azizi in the back of my mind. It didn’t take but a few seconds to realize that was the name. I checked the meaning. My jaw dropped. No name I’d ever come up with had been so perfectly fit.
Azizi means “Precious One.” It truly gave me chills to read!
Turns out that Arezi and Azizi were made for each other.
So there they were. Destiny? I don’t know. It is just a game after all. Just a game. Who am I trying to kid? If you are reading this page it’s more than just a game to you. I encourage people to give a little thought to pet naming because it can be quite entertaining.
